Hawaiian made ukuleles are the most sort after ukuleles in the world, not just because of prestige, or koa being endemic to Hawaii, but primarily because of the unique multi-generational luthier 'families' that handcraft ukuleles in Hawaii. Of these 'families', the Kitakis family of Ko'olau are best of the four 'K's' for custom ukuleles (Kamaka, Kanile'a, KoAloha and Ko'olau). Although any of these Hawaiian ukulele brands are absolutely fantastic, Ko'olau's attention to detail is second to none, and their craftsmanship unbeatable. Each ukulele is handcrafted by John Kitakis' stepson, Noa Bonk at Ko'olau's workshop in Wahiawa, Oahu.
